​Research for The Word in the Wilderness involved quantitative analysis of three types of Pennsylvania German manuscripts: penmanship samples (Vorschriften), tune books (Notenbüchlein), as well as birth and baptismal certificates (Geburts und Taufschein).  The online appendices below share more information about the data collected as part of this research.
